FRAME YOUR WORDS in GOLD!!!
Usually Mondays are a day for me to rant and rave about FASHION FAUX PAS! that i have seen around the city, but I thought you would enjoy seeing one of the little projects I've been working on. Ok.... so the "framed chalkboard" look has been seen in alot of decor magazines......and seems to be the new craze in kitchens everywhere. I decided to re-creat the look myself. I thought it would be a great finishing touch to my mother's french inspired kitchen. I LOVE how it turned out. See for yourself.
The Finished LOOK
So I found this large hand carved golden antique frame at the Vintage Village in Georgia
I cannot believe i only paid $25 for it........WHAT!!!! This is what actually inspired me to create the chalkboard look in the first place.
It's really easy to create. I went to Lowe's and had them cut a thin piece of birchwood to fit the frame.
Lowe's also sells chalkboard paint which can turn any wall or piece wood into a chalk canvas!!!
The paint is actually really thick.
Make Sure you PAINT 2 COATS!!! With an hour to dry between each COAT!!
Once the paint is dry you can mount to the back of the frame and hang on your wall of choice.
Add fresh foliage.
And your FAVORITE ANTIQUE TEA SET. I love vintage things!!!
